Arintra Secures $21M Series A Funding Led by Peak XV Partners for AI Medical Coding

Reimbursement in healthcare is fundamentally broken. Payers are moving fast, using policy and technology to shift more burden onto providers, but autonomous coding hasn’t kept up

San Francisco-based Arintra, an autonomous medical coding platform, has secured $21 million in Series A funding, led by Peak XV Partners and supported by Endeavor Health Ventures, Y Combinator, Counterpart Ventures, Spider Capital, Ten13, and other investors.

At a time when hospitals and clinics face increasing operational pressures, Arintra’s platform offers a practical way to navigate the complexity of medical billing. The company has developed a generative AI-powered platform that automates medical coding, streamlines documentation, and helps providers secure accurate reimbursement. By integrating seamlessly with widely used electronic health record systems, Arintra provides a solution that efficiently reduces the risk of errors, which can otherwise lead to costly delays or claim denials.

Healthcare organizations face growing pressure from multiple fronts. Rising operational costs, shrinking margins, and the constantly evolving regulations from payers create a challenging environment for hospitals and physician practices. Every delay, error, or incomplete documentation can have a significant financial impact. At the same time, a shortage of trained medical coders adds to the strain, as even minor errors can snowball into substantial revenue losses. Arintra addresses these challenges directly by automating the coding process, ensuring accuracy, and supporting compliance. The platform enables healthcare teams to focus more on patient care rather than administrative tasks, while also enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the revenue cycle.

Arintra stands out because of the breadth of its platform. It does more than automate coding; it also supports clinical documentation improvement and denial prevention. In practice, this means providers can better document patient care, accurately code procedures, and submit claims with the supporting evidence necessary to prevent denials.

Reimbursement in healthcare is fundamentally broken. Payers are moving fast, using policy and technology to shift more burden onto providers, but autonomous coding hasn’t kept up,” said Nitesh Shroff, co-founder and CEO of Arintra. He added, “We built Arintra to help healthcare providers secure compliant revenue at scale while easing the burden on frontline teams.” This approach makes the platform a tool to partner in managing one of the most challenging aspects of healthcare administration.

The impact of Arintra’s technology is already measurable. Since its inception, the platform has processed more than a billion dollars in healthcare charges, helping providers improve their revenue cycles and reduce claim denials. Early adopters have reported significant improvements in both revenue capture and operational efficiency. Some hospitals have noted that reimbursement timelines have shortened, while the number of denied claims has dropped considerably. For healthcare organizations, these improvements translate into tangible financial benefits and less stress for administrative staff, who can now focus more on patient interactions and less on correcting errors in documentation or coding.

The Series A funding will enable Arintra to scale further and expand its capabilities. Part of the investment will be used to grow the team, attracting experts in AI, healthcare operations, and revenue cycle management. A new headquarters in the Bay Area will provide the company with closer access to talent, strategic partners, and opportunities for collaboration with U.S.-based health systems. Product development will continue to refine the platform, ensuring it stays ahead of changing payer requirements and can meet the diverse needs of healthcare providers.

While Arintra is gaining traction, it operates in a competitive market. Companies like Olive AI, Caption Health, and Codex Health have also developed AI-driven tools aimed at optimizing healthcare workflows, improving documentation, and reducing billing errors. Olive AI, for instance, focuses on automating repetitive administrative tasks across the healthcare system, while Caption Health emphasizes AI-assisted medical imaging and diagnostics. Codex Health, like Arintra, specializes in intelligent coding and compliance solutions. Arintra differentiates itself by combining multiple revenue cycle functionalities like autonomous coding, documentation improvement, and denial prevention within a single, integrated platform, which provides a more comprehensive solution for providers.

Arintra plans to integrate with additional electronic health record systems and expand its reach to a broader range of healthcare providers, including smaller practices and specialty clinics that have historically struggled with complex billing processes. Its vision is to create a workflow where intelligent automation supports human teams, making the process of reimbursement more reliable while reducing administrative stress. By improving documentation, coding, and denial prevention within a single platform, Arintra is redefining what efficient revenue cycle management can look like in healthcare.

The platform has demonstrated a reduction of claim denials by over 43 percent for early users, while speeding up reimbursement cycles and allowing providers to recover missed revenue. Over a billion dollars in healthcare charges have been processed to date, illustrating the platform’s ability to handle large-scale operations reliably.
