Motion Raises $60M at $550M Valuation to Power the Future of AI-Driven Work

Seamless AI Employees Boosting Every Task and Project

Motion, co-founded by Harry Qi and Omid Rooholfada has raised $60 million across Series B, C, and C2 funding rounds, bringing its total capital raised to $75 million with a valuation of $550 million. The majority of the funding comes from a $38 million Series C round, which was oversubscribed more than 5 times and led by Scale Venture Partners. Early investors such as HOF Capital, 468 Capital, and SignalFire participated in the Series B and C2 rounds, while Y Combinator consistently doubled down on each funding round. New investors joining this round include Valor Equity Partners, Fellows Fund, Leonis Capital, and over a dozen unicorn founders.

The funding will be used to expand the team, primarily in engineering and product, to further develop their agentic work suite with new applications and agents. As part of the Series C funding round, Stacey Bishop of Scale Venture Partners joined Motion’s board, bringing her deep expertise in the SMB and mid-market sectors. Bishop, who led HubSpot’s Series C and sat on its board, has also headed funding rounds at Lever, Demandbase, and Bill.com

“Motion reminds me of HubSpot in its early days—laser-focused on building the best product for SMBs before moving upmarket,” Bishop said. “Motion’s agentic work suite solves a real problem: these businesses want to leverage AI but don’t know where to start. Motion makes that leap possible.”

Motion’s rapid growth is due to its impact, with over 100,000 paying customers relying on its platform. The company’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) has tripled year-over-year, a clear indicator of strong market adoption. More impressively, the innovative “AI Employees” offering has generated $10 million in new ARR in just four months, highlighting the growing demand and trust in this novel approach.

Bridging the Gap for Everyday Businesses

Large tech companies and Fortune 500s are investing heavily in building custom AI agents with dedicated engineering teams. But small and medium-sized businesses, which are the true backbone of the American economy, are often left out of the picture. Unlike large enterprises, these smaller businesses can’t afford to juggle a patchwork of AI solutions for different departments, especially when each one requires expensive integrations and complicated setups.

Most small businesses only interact with AI through tools like ChatGPT and don’t yet realise the game-changing impact that AI agents could have on their daily operations. It’s a real challenge but also a huge opportunity to bring AI-driven productivity to all the businesses that need it most.

Motion’s client base spans across the country, from Minnesota’s Media Junction to Texas’s Efficient, Alabama’s Ally, and Tennessee’s Worship Times. Instead of a patchwork of tools, these companies are looking for a unified work suite that makes collaboration smooth and effortless from day one. What sets Motion apart is its deeply integrated AI agents that aren’t mere add-ons but part of the fabric of every application, from AI sales reps to AI project managers and marketers.

Over the past three years, Motion has built a powerful platform covering everything from project management and knowledge sharing to documents, spreadsheets, calendars, scheduling, and business intelligence, creating a seamless, smart ecosystem that keeps work flowing smoothly.

A recent study from MIT revealed 95% of AI pilot programmes fail due to brittle workflows and lack of contextual learning. Motion’s approach addresses these challenges by building platform and agent layers inseparably from the ground up, granting agents full read and write access to business data. This enables truly native automation, such as a one-click feature in client engagement apps that pulls detailed client data and project notes instantly, a feat third-party integrations simply cannot achieve.

Why Motion?

For Motion, success is measured by how it helps SMBs attract clients, grow revenue, and scale operations. CEOs praise the platform for freeing them from routine tasks, allowing focus on strategy, while sales teams spend less time on record-keeping and more on closing deals. The company has quickly reached mid-8-figure ARR with over 10,000 SMB customers running their core operations on Motion’s agentic platform. Since launching AI Employees, this revenue line has grown from zero to eight figures in just three months.

“Motion’s AI Project Manager cut our project delivery time by 30%. The Executive Assistant agent frees up hours weekly to win new clients,” said Joel Peeples, CEO of IT services company Ally. “It’s the first platform where AI feels truly native, not bolted on. Motion keeps innovating at a pace I’ve never seen. I’m excited to move my entire business onto Motion’s platform as new features roll out.”
