Founded in 2020, Topline Pro, a New York-based startup, has successfully raised $27 million in Series B funding to expand its AI-driven platform for home service professionals across the United States. Founded by Nick Ornitz and Shannon Kay, the company aims to empower over 2.5 million home service professionals by providing a unified solution for managing marketing, sales, and operational tasks.
The funding round was led by Northzone, with participation from Tactile Ventures and Industry Ventures, alongside continued support from existing investors including Forerunner Ventures, Bonfire Ventures, TMV, Flybridge, and BBG Ventures. This brings Topline Pro’s total funding to approximately $49 million.
Topline Pro identified a critical gap in the home services sector. While millions of skilled professionals operate independently or in small teams, most lack access to advanced technology solutions that streamline business operations. Many small businesses spend significant time managing websites, social media, online advertising, and customer communications, reducing the hours available for their core service delivery. Topline Pro addresses this challenge with an AI-first approach, automating marketing, sales, and operations so that service providers can focus on their craft while ensuring their business side functions efficiently.
The platform integrates three specialized AI agents: the AI Marketing Agent, the AI Sales Agent, and the AI Operations Agent. Each agent autonomously manages specific business functions. The Marketing Agent handles SEO, ad spend optimization, website updates, and social media posts. The Sales Agent manages inquiries, scheduling, lead follow-up, and client engagement. The Operations Agent streamlines invoicing, inventory tracking, and workflow management. By combining these functions into a single platform, Topline Pro offers a comprehensive, unified solution that allows professionals to run their businesses effectively without juggling multiple tools.
Nick Ornitz, CEO and co-founder, emphasized the company’s mission: “We’re building Topline Pro to be the base layer powering the success of over 2.5 million small businesses, most of them solo operators, by pushing the boundaries of agentic technology.”
Co-founder Shannon Kay added, “Our platform is designed to save service professionals time and provide them with insights that were previously only available to larger companies with dedicated business teams.”
The competitive landscape in home services technology includes companies like Housecall Pro, Jobber, and ServiceTitan. Housecall Pro focuses on mobile workforce management, appointment scheduling, and payment processing. Jobber offers similar features with a strong emphasis on small business invoicing and customer management. ServiceTitan targets larger service companies with enterprise-level workflow automation, CRM integration, and reporting. While these competitors offer important tools, Topline Pro differentiates itself by integrating AI-driven automation across marketing, sales, and operations in a single platform. Unlike other solutions where professionals need to use multiple apps to manage different business functions, Topline Pro provides a seamless, AI-first approach that covers all aspects of a service professional’s business operations.
The funding will be used to enhance the platform’s AI capabilities, expand the engineering and research teams, and support national scaling. Plans include adding new features such as proactive demand forecasting, automated invoicing, and personalized growth strategies for each business. These developments aim to enable small businesses to operate with efficiency, accuracy, and insight, creating measurable value in time saved and revenue growth.
Topline Pro’s platform is already implemented by a growing base of home service professionals, providing tools that generate quantifiable operational improvements. Analytics embedded in the platform track lead conversion, response times, ad performance, and customer engagement metrics. These insights allow businesses to make data-driven decisions and optimize workflows. Feedback from users is incorporated into ongoing software updates, ensuring that enhancements align with the practical needs of service providers.
Independent evaluations and internal reporting demonstrate the platform’s impact. Early adopter businesses have reported reductions in administrative workload by up to 40%, improved online engagement, and increased booking consistency. Such metrics provide evidence of operational efficiency and support the broader objective of professionalizing small businesses in the home services sector.
In addition to operational impact, Topline Pro emphasizes security and compliance. Customer and business data is encrypted and securely stored, with access restricted to authorized personnel. The platform complies with standard data protection regulations, ensuring that sensitive information related to transactions and client interactions is handled responsibly.
Topline Pro maintains records of operational metrics for client businesses, including time saved on administrative tasks, engagement results from automated marketing, and revenue improvements linked to AI-driven insights. These metrics are shared with investors in a structured manner, providing objective evidence of the platform’s effectiveness. The structured reporting framework ensures transparency and accountability, demonstrating that investment is directed toward verifiable operational outcomes.
