GlobalFoundries (GF), a semiconductor manufacturer, has selected Redpanda to build a unified real-time data platform across its global manufacturing operations, with the companies also working to deploy AI agents across the business.

The collaboration connects manufacturing, engineering and business systems through Redpanda's data platform. GF said the platform replaces legacy change-data-capture infrastructure and streams equipment, process and scientific data from its manufacturing operations.

The deployment comes as GF expands its use of AI and digital manufacturing technologies. Its digital manufacturing strategy includes AI-powered solutions across manufacturing sites, while its Singapore operations have used artificial intelligence and machine learning as part of broader Industry 4.0 initiatives.

The company has also been working with Siemens on AI-driven manufacturing, including predictive maintenance, energy management and automation.

The push places GF alongside other semiconductor manufacturers applying AI directly to production environments, including efforts covered in AI manufacturing and the use of AI in semiconductor testing.

GF Puts Real-Time Data Behind Its AI Agents Redpanda's platform brings together data from equipment, process control, engineering, supply chain and manufacturing systems into a single environment.

GF said this gives it a consistent real-time view of operations and supports process monitoring, decision-making and the scaling of digital capabilities across its manufacturing footprint. Tier-0, mission-critical systems are already running in production, according to the announcement.

GF operates manufacturing facilities across the U.S., Europe and Asia, making the data infrastructure relevant to operations distributed across multiple regions.
