Salesforce has announced the appointment of Savinay Berry as EVP and General Manager of Data Management, placing him in charge of the Informatica business that Salesforce acquired and is now rebuilding as a data foundation for its Agentforce agentic AI platform.
Berry arrived just 72 hours before Informatica World, Salesforce's flagship data management conference, where Rahul Auradkar, President and GM of Data Foundation at Salesforce, introduced him publicly on stage. Berry joins from OpenText, where he served as EVP and Chief Product Officer from January 2025.
Before OpenText, he led Products and Engineering at Vonage, an Ericsson company, covering cloud applications, developer platforms, AI, and security. "Software and applications will change in a few years in ways we can't fully imagine right now," Berry said in a LinkedIn post announcing the appointment.
"But two things feel certain. There will always be a need for an AI infrastructure layer, and there will always be a need for the data layer.
AI ready data will drive practical, positive change in the world, at scale." The Agentforce Data Foundation Context Berry's appointment is directly tied to Salesforce's strategic positioning of Informatica as the enterprise data layer that AI agents need to operate reliably.
Salesforce is rebuilding Informatica for what it describes as an agentic, headless world, a model in which AI agents handle data management tasks autonomously while human teams focus on higher-order decisions.
At Informatica World , Auradkar described the broader vision: "What Informatica from Salesforce is unveiling today is a new model for enterprise data, one where agents handle the heavy lifting of data management so your teams can focus on what only humans can do.
The result is a data foundation that is always current, governed, and ready to be activated across every surface, every agent, and every workflow." The platform integrates Informatica's Intelligent Data Management Cloud with Salesforce's Data 360, combining Master Data Management, Data Catalog, and Data Lineage capabilities to give AI agents a verified map of all business assets and a shared enterprise vocabulary.
