WeTravel, founded by Garib Mehdiyev, Zaky Prabowo, and Johannes Koeppel has secured $92 million in a Series C funding round. Led by Sapphire Ventures, the round saw participation from Left Lane Capital, Base10, Cross Creek, and other angel investors. This latest infusion triples the company’s valuation to nearly $500 million and will help with their mission to streamline the multi-day travel industry through AI and automation.
Multi-day travel including retreats, tours, and group excursions can get complicated. From managing payments to creating itineraries, there are way too many pieces to juggle. Most traditional tools aren’t built to handle that kind of complexity at scale, which forces operators to juggle between fragmented tools and manual processes.
WeTravel seeks to change that by offering a comprehensive operating system made specifically for group travel operators. The platform will integrate itinerary creation, booking management, and global payment processing into one seamless workflow. Operators will be able to create custom trip pages with daily agendas, photos, maps, and pricing options. They will also be able to embed booking widgets directly on their site or marketing channels.
Growing Operations with AI
With the new funds, WeTravel plans to accelerate development of their AI-driven tools mainly aimed at eliminating administrative bottlenecks. Upcoming features include AI assistants that can instantly turn dull, static PDFs into lively, interactive itineraries that travelers can customize. There will also be smart invoice checks and automatic invoice processing to cut down tedious admin work.
Ted Clements, CEO of WeTravel, said, “Multi-day travel is full of complex workflows that consume time and introduce room for error — from payment collection to trip management and partner payouts. Our platform makes this process flow seamlessly, enabling operators to run more efficiently, grow faster, and spend more time delivering memorable traveler experiences.”
The AI upgrades go beyond just bookings and payments. They’ll automate manual data entry, fire off marketing campaigns based on booking trends, and manage payment schedules. These features will help retain customers and open new ways to grow revenue through subscriptions.
WeTravel’s Partner Network is the biggest B2B community focused solely on multi-day travel. It links travel operators with hotels, transport firms and local guides. The network streamlines invoicing and enables instant payments with lower fees, creating a powerful two-sided marketplace.
For operators, this means access to a growing supply chain with quick, hassle-free payments and smooth integrations that cut down on administrative work. The company is also expanding its reach with new offices in Sydney and Baku to focus on regions like Asia-Pacific and Central Asia, where multi-day travel is popular but digital adoption is still low.
Where Does That Put Them?
Founded in 2014, WeTravel has become the go-to platform for thousands of travel operators handling multi-day trips in over 200 countries. The company’s hybrid business model combines SaaS subscription revenue with payment processing fees, creating a scalable, consumption-based revenue stream that grows as operators succeed.
“WeTravel’s purpose-built system is solving the unique operational challenges of multi-day trip planning, from payments to vendor management. Their AI-driven tools remove friction and help operators scale globally. We’re excited to support their mission to shape the future of this niche,” said Rajeev Dham, partner at Sapphire Ventures and a new WeTravel board member.
Customers also praise the platform’s impact. Hicham Mhammedi Alaoui, co-founder of Travel Collection Limited and a long-time user, noted, “WeTravel’s seamless payment transfers and API integrations have allowed us to scale quickly, operating multiple global brands with ease.”
Several challenges still loom. The travel industry includes various small operators who may require education and onboarding support. And on the regulatory side, navigating cross-border payments and financial compliance is complex, especially with WeTravel’s multi-currency wallet and global payment ecosystem.
Established booking platforms like TravelJoy and TripWorks, and group travel fintechs such as Groupdesk and SquadTrip, are all eyeing this market. They offer various tools that compete directly with WeTravel’s capabilities. WeTravel’s focus on operational automation, embedded fintech, and network effects sets them apart.
