University of Toledo Health Expands Nabla AI Setup After Measurable Gains

University of Toledo Health has expanded its deployment of ambient AI documentation software from Nabla after an evaluation showed measurable improvements in documentation speed and revenue cycle performance, according to a press release.

The academic health system selected Nabla following an evaluation of multiple AI documentation tools, citing its ability to integrate into clinical workflows and adapt through collaboration with clinicians and engineering teams. The rollout will extend to hundreds of physicians and advanced practice providers across the organization.

Nabla integrates with the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, allowing clinicians to generate structured documentation during patient encounters within existing workflows. During an eight-week evaluation, clinicians reduced time to chart closure by 29%, according to the organization.

The health provider said documentation backlogs in several departments fell from more than 400 open charts to fewer than 30.
