Dedalus Labs Raises $11M Seed to Simplify AI Agent Development

Dedalus isn’t just a developer tool. We are becoming the backbone for how companies build and distribute their agents.

Dedalus Labs has raised $11 million in seed funding to simplify how developers build and deploy AI agents.

The round was co-led by Kindred Ventures and Saga Ventures, with participation from E14 Fund, Emergence Capital, Sunshine Lake, Transpose Platform, Liquid 2 Ventures, FPV Ventures, Twenty Two Ventures, Telescope Foundation, Spot VC, Operator Partners, and Y Combinator. Angel investors include Cal Henderson (Slack), Thomas Wolf (Hugging Face), Ant Wilson (Supabase), Thomas Dohmke (GitHub), Tri Dao, and Elad Hazan.

Dedalus Labs develops an SDK and infrastructure platform that helps developers connect AI models, tools, and APIs quickly. Di, the company’s CEO, said, “We were tired of settling for tools that didn’t match how agents interact with the real world. Our goal is to make building and streaming non-linear agents as easy as writing one function call.”

Making Agent Development Faster

Dedalus Labs focuses on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard that lets AI models communicate consistently with tools and data sources. MCP allows multiple systems to work together securely and predictably, reducing the complexity of agent workflows.

Dedalus Labs explained that deploying an MCP server previously required days of configuration with Docker and scripts. Now, the process takes just three clicks. The SDK handles interactions between models and tools, letting developers focus on agent logic rather than infrastructure.

The company is also creating an MCP Authorization Server. This tool manages security and access for multiple services, so developers can integrate external tools without building their own authorization systems.

Di said, “We built the Dedalus SDK because no existing framework connected everything together. Developers needed a foundation that treated agents as real software, not just one-off demos.”

The platform supports multiple model providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Mistral. Agents can orchestrate several tools simultaneously, like accessing calendars, databases, and documents in a single workflow.

Building a Developer Ecosystem

Beyond the SDK and infrastructure, Dedalus Labs is investing in community programs. In December, it will host Break In, a three-week hacker house in partnership with The Residency. The program will bring developers and early-stage founders together to test agent applications in real-world settings.

Di said, “Dedalus isn’t just a developer tool. We are becoming the backbone for how companies build and distribute their agents.”

The company also plans to open-source parts of its platform, including the authorization server. This approach allows other developers to adopt the same building blocks, ensuring interoperability and easier integration across different projects.

Dedalus maintains a code-first approach, avoiding drag-and-drop interfaces. The focus is on writing clean, maintainable code that can scale as agents become more complex. This contrasts with visual frameworks that often limit flexibility and control.

The seed funding will also support hiring for engineering roles in developer tools, runtime systems, and distributed infrastructure, allowing Dedalus to expand its team and accelerate development.
