BMW i Ventures, Bosch Ventures Lead Strategic Investment in Nauta

Nauta secured a strategic investment from four industrial venture arms as it expands its AI platform for supply chain and global trade operations.

San Francisco-based supply chain technology company Nauta announced a strategic investment led by BMW i Ventures, Bosch Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, and Yamaha Motor Ventures on August 26. Existing investors Construct Capital and Predictive also participated in the round, which will fund Nauta’s global expansion, technical hiring, and entry into additional areas of global trade, including payment services. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Nauta Targets Fragmented Supply Chain Data

Nauta said its platform connects operational information from systems, documents, and emails into an AI-native data layer. The company uses that layer to build a model of a customer’s operations, including information on SKUs, contracts, shipping lanes, and workflows, before deploying specialized AI agents to execute tasks.

The approach addresses a problem that has also become a focus for logistics technology providers. Fragmented supply chain data has pushed companies to connect transportation, warehousing, and external partner data into unified operational systems.

Nauta said its agents can reason and execute using the operational context of each company rather than relying only on predetermined workflows. The company also plans to expand the infrastructure used to ingest and structure unstructured information, including operational knowledge held by individual employees.

Valentina Jordan, CEO and Co-Founder of Nauta, said the company had seen limited results from AI deployments that focused on agents and workflow optimization without first addressing the underlying data infrastructure.

The new investment will allow Nauta to expand that infrastructure and deploy its technology across additional areas of global trade, the company said.

Industrial Investors Back AI Agents for Trade

The investment comes as major logistics and supply chain companies expand their use of AI systems that can act directly on operational data. C.H. Robinson, for example, has introduced an AI system designed to continuously assess and manage supply chain operations.

Nauta said its platform now supports more than 8,000 suppliers across 60 countries. Teams using the platform reclaim about 37% of operational hours per operator each week, according to the company.

For one customer, Nauta said its system automatically matched more than 80% of shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and purchase orders. The company said the deployment helped prevent $3 million in detention and demurrage charges, avoid a $300,000 invoice discrepancy, and prevent $1.5 million in stockouts in less than six months.

Nauta said customers serving brands including New Balance, Ashley Furniture HomeStore, L’Oréal, Modelo, and Moët & Chandon are using the platform. Those customers represent more than $50 billion in combined annual sales, according to the company.

BMW i Ventures’ investment comes after the venture firm closed a $300 million Fund III in April focused on artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and the automotive ecosystem.

Kasper Sage, Managing Partner at BMW i Ventures, said Nauta’s technology could help suppliers across manufacturing value chains manage complex operations by deploying specialized AI agents on operational data.

Nauta said the new funding will support its expansion across global trade while increasing its investment in AI-native technical talent and infrastructure.
