How Will Applause Scale AI Testing Capabilities?

The leadership changes are aimed at accelerating the company's AI evaluation and managed testing capabilities as enterprises deploy more agentic AI applications.
On July 6, 2026, Applause, the managed software testing and digital quality services provider, announced the appointment of Aatish Salvi as Chief Executive Officer and the promotion of Tacita Morway to Chief Technology Officer, as the company expands its AI evaluation and managed software testing capabilities for enterprise customers. The company said the leadership changes will help strengthen its ability to validate AI-powered software under real-world conditions.
"Enterprises are shipping AI-driven products faster than their testing strategies can keep up with," said Aatish Salvi, Chief Executive Officer of Applause. "AI is fundamentally changing how software is built, but it hasn't changed the standard for quality. The modern approach to quality has to include AI agents and humans."
Salvi succeeds Chris Malone, who is leaving the company after 13 years, including nearly five years as CEO. According to the company, Malone helped expand Applause's enterprise customer base, strengthened its position in managed crowdtesting services, and advanced its partnership with Vista Equity Partners.
Salvi joined Applause as Chief Technology Officer in April 2026 after holding engineering and AI leadership roles across enterprise software organizations. The company said he helped advance its agentic AI evaluation capabilities and the technology supporting its managed testing services. As CEO, Salvi will oversee strategy, global operations, and go-to-market execution with a continued focus on AI-powered software quality.
Focus on AI Evaluation
Morway, who joined Applause as Vice President of Engineering in February 2026, will now lead the company's global engineering and product organizations while directing its long-term technology strategy.
According to the company, she has been responsible for expanding Applause's agentic testing capabilities since joining earlier this year.
"AI systems fail in the gap between what they were trained on and what actually happens when real people use them," said Tacita Morway, Chief Technology Officer of Applause. "My team's job is to close that gap. We're building technology that determines what to automate, where our global community of testers is needed, and how to orchestrate both so customers can ship faster with confidence."
Nick Prickel of Vista Equity Partners said Salvi's technical leadership positions the company for its next stage of growth as AI continues to reshape software development.
The appointments come as software vendors adapt their quality assurance strategies for generative and agentic AI systems, where evaluating outputs under real-world conditions has become a growing enterprise requirement.
