What’s Next for AI at CrowdStrike?

After serving as NVIDIA's Senior Director of Engineering for cybersecurity and agentic AI, he has been appointed CrowdStrike's Chief AI and Autonomous Systems Officer.
On June 3, 2026, CrowdStrike, the Texas-based AI-native cybersecurity technology company announced the appointment of Dr. Bartley Richardson as its new Chief AI and Autonomous Systems Officer.
Dr. Bartley Richardson, who holds a PhD in computer science and engineering, previously led multiple DARPA research projects. After serving as NVIDIA's Senior Director of Engineering for cybersecurity and agentic AI, he was appointed CrowdStrike's Chief AI and Autonomous Systems Officer in 2026.
“CrowdStrike pioneered AI-native cybersecurity. Our data advantage is structural; no one else has the sensors, the telemetry, the expert validation, and the closed-loop system to stop breaches at machine speed,” said George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike. “The best AI builders want to solve the hardest problems with the best data. That's why Bartley joins us.”
In his new role, Richardson will lead CrowdStrike’s advancement in structural data for more autonomous, deterministic security outcomes by stopping breaches and expanding the company’s role into artificial general intelligence (AGI), the company said.
Richardson to Achieve “Security AGI”
As per the company, Richardson will focus on achieving "Security AGI" by leveraging CrowdStrike's loop of threat data generated directly by its human analysts. This continuous feedback cycle trains its AI models with specialized security signals that standard frontier models cannot replicate.
By combining this data flywheel with human expertise, he aims to accelerate autonomous security outcomes through tools like Charlotte AI and AI Detection and Response (AIDR). Ultimately, his goal is to guide security operations centers (SOCs) to full "Level 5" autonomy, transforming how organizations protect themselves and manage cybersecurity staffing in the AI era.
"Cybersecurity is one of the defining challenges of the AI era, encapsulating massive data, constant noise, and the need to make the right decisions in real time," said Richardson. "Modern cybersecurity isn't just about stopping threats; it's ensuring organizations can deploy AI safely, at speed, with confidence. CrowdStrike’s data, platform, and mission put us on the path to deliver security superintelligence, where machines and humans stop breaches together.”
CrowdStrike provides cloud-delivered protection for endpoints, cloud workloads, identity, and data through its unified Falcon platform. This platform uses behavioral analysis and machine learning to detect threats, manage vulnerabilities, and respond to cyberattacks in real time.
