Adam Gale

Adam Gale, the Field CTO for AI and Cybersecurity at NetApp, helps enterprises build AI infrastructure while meeting evolving data security and regulatory requirements. His work spans the UAE, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), aligning NetApp’s data infrastructure strategy with AI adoption, cyber resilience, and national digital initiatives.

Before joining NetApp, Gale held enterprise architecture and solution design roles at Ensono, EMC, Dell Technologies, and Explorer UK, building more than 20 years of experience in enterprise IT, cloud infrastructure, and data management across financial services, the public sector, and media organizations.

Gale’s current focus is enabling organizations to deploy AI without compromising data sovereignty or cyber security. Through NetApp’s guidance, industry publications, and technical discussions, he has advocated for data classification, hybrid multicloud architectures, immutable storage, autonomous ransomware protection, and behavioral threat detection as foundational capabilities for enterprise AI. 

His work reflects NetApp’s strategy of positioning governed, secure, and AI-ready data infrastructure as the foundation for large-scale enterprise AI adoption.

“AI’s successful future in the enterprise is intrinsically linked to sovereignty postures and the fortification of its two foundational pillars, security and control. These elements are linked; losing either compromises sovereignty entirely and in turn threatens successful AI,” Gale said. “Recognizing this, nations worldwide and organisations are adopting sovereign AI strategies to maintain control and security over their AI systems and the data that underpins them. This path to success then becomes self-sustaining, with stronger security reinforcing control, and vice versa, and leading to better AI outcomes.”
