Shawn Malhotra

Shawn Malhotra became Chief Technology Officer of Rocket Companies in May 2024, taking on the company’s first enterprise-wide CTO role to lead AI development, data science, product engineering, technology operations, and information security. 

He was hired to accelerate Rocket’s AI strategy following the launch of Rocket Logic and Rocket Logic – Synopsis, generative AI tools that automate document classification, client data extraction, and other mortgage workflows.

Before joining Rocket, Malhotra spent seven years at Thomson Reuters, where he led global engineering and product development, built a platform to accelerate generative AI application development, and helped deploy an AI assistant across the company's products. Earlier, he held technology leadership roles at Intel and Altera.

At Rocket, Malhotra is leading the integration of AI into the mortgage process by automating document-intensive tasks and providing AI-powered insights for loan officers. The strategy aims to reduce operational complexity and let employees focus on customer interactions rather than manual administrative work.
