Flex and Cerebras Systems announced on July 9, 2026, an expanded manufacturing partnership to scale production of the Cerebras CS-3 artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator system at Flex's manufacturing facilities in Milpitas, California. According to the companies, the expansion is expected to increase CS-3 production capacity by approximately seven times through 2026 to meet rising demand for AI training and inference infrastructure.
The companies said the expansion includes new manufacturing lines, additional production floor space, expanded test infrastructure, and the hiring of additional skilled manufacturing workers in California. According to the companies, the investment reflects growing demand from AI model developers, cloud providers, and enterprise customers while expanding advanced manufacturing capacity in the United States.
"The CS-3 is unlike any computer system ever built, and scaling its production requires an extraordinary manufacturing partner," said Dhiraj Mallick, Chief Operating Officer of Cerebras. "Flex brings the technical depth, operational rigor, and manufacturing expertise needed to support that scale."
