On May 25, the comprehensive automation and Physical AI multinational conglomerate, Hyundai Motor Group, announced its plans of accelerating mass-produced humanoid robot Atlas to deploy it at manufacturing sites, to Asia Today. The conglomerate also plans to create new software-defined factory and robotics parts organizations as it pushes to build AI-driven future factories.
Industry officials have told Asia Today that Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, or HMGMA, in the U.S. state of Georgia is the leading candidate for Atlas mass production.
Hyundai’s strategy reportedly extends beyond introducing robots into factories and simultaneously aims to establish AI-based manufacturing systems and a dedicated robotics supply chain.
