Oracle Deploys AI Agents to Automate End-to-End Supply Chain Workflows

Oracle has made its next move in enterprise AI with the launch of AI agents embedded directly within Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, designed to automate and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations. Announced at the Oracle AI World Tour in Mumbai, the new capabilities sit inside Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) and run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with integrated security and no additional licensing cost for existing Fusion customers. The agents are built using Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications and are intended to help supply chain leaders. Oracle’s new agents are not standalone chatbots or add-ons, they are natively embedded into existing Fusion SCM workflows, where they analyze data, recommend actions, and execute routine tasks. "As supply chains grow more complex and disruptions become more frequent, organizations need faster, more automated ways to keep operations moving. The Agent Portfolio The launch includes more than 12 specialized AI agents, each targeting specific inefficiencies within the supply chain lifecycle. Planning, Product Lifecycle Management, and Procurement In the critical early stages of the supply chain, Oracle introduced several key agents designed to streamline strategy and sourcing: Planning Cycle Agent: This tool automates the coordination of tasks, effectively retrieving, assigning, and updating planning tasks to keep cycles on track without constant human intervention. Component Replacement Agent: Addressing the complexities of product lifecycle management, this agent automates the component replacement process. It identifies viable alternatives, analyzes potential supply chain impacts, and autonomously generates change orders. Planning Measure Expression Agent: Bridging the gap between business intent and technical execution, this agent translates natural language business questions into precise planning calculations, while also identifying errors and recommending corrections. Autonomous Sourcing Agent: Designed to reduce administrative overhead, this agent manages competitive bidding for low-dollar, high-volume purchases, handling supplier invitations strictly according to company policies. Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Inventory To enhance operational efficiency on the shop floor and in warehouses, new agents include: Maintenance Work Order Cost Estimation Advisor Agent: This tool provides accurate cost estimates based on planned materials, labor, and resource usage, helping facility managers budget more effectively. Outside Processing Shipping Agent: For manufacturers relying on external vendors, this agent creates necessary shipping data for components sent to suppliers, ensuring seamless compliance and tracking. Inventory Tasking Agent: This agent optimizes workforce allocation by assigning warehouse tasks based on operator skills, current availability, zones, and real-time priorities. Inventory Aging Advisor Agent: To combat waste, this agent identifies aging stock, assesses holding costs, and proactively recommends and executes actions such as returns or transfers. Logistics, Order Management, and Service For the final stages of delivery and customer service, Oracle deployed: Wave Research Advisor Agent: This agent analyzes batches of warehouse work to identify issues and root causes, providing actionable recommendations to smooth out logistics operations. Task Management Assistant: Acting as a safeguard for delivery timelines, this assistant detects at-risk orders, surfaces missing ship dates, and reprioritizes tasks to prevent delays. Purchase Order to Sales Order Converter Agent: By extracting data directly from PDF purchase orders, this agent automatically creates and submits sales orders, learning from user feedback to improve accuracy over time. Product Configuration Agent: This tool interprets customer requirements provided in natural language to generate precise product configurations for quotes and sales orders. Service Parts Advisor Agent: Utilizing knowledge base insights and service history, this agent identifies the exact parts needed to resolve customer issues and places orders automatically. Technical Infrastructure and Market Context Backing these capabilities is a robust technical infrastructure centered on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
