SAP Reorganizes AI Leadership, Creates Dedicated Business AI Platform and Autonomous Suite

SAP has reorganized its product and engineering leadership, creating dedicated organizations for its Business AI Platform and Autonomous Suite as the company moves to align its AI strategy more closely with product development and customer delivery.

The management changes, which took effect on July 1, place Business AI Platform, data, analytics, and chief technology functions under SAP Extended Board Member Philipp Herzig, while SAP Extended Board Member Manoj Swaminathan will lead a newly formed Autonomous Suite organization spanning finance, supply chain, human resources, customer experience, and Cloud ERP Private, according to ERP Today.

The restructuring follows SAP's broader push around Business AI, Joule, Business Data Cloud, and the Autonomous Enterprise strategy introduced at Sapphire 2026, where the company outlined plans to embed AI agents more deeply across enterprise applications.

Business AI Platform and Autonomous Suite Gain Dedicated Leadership

Under the new structure, Herzig will oversee Business AI Platform, Data and Analytics, Business Transformation Management, Platform and AI, portions of the former Business Technology Platform (BTP) organization, and CTO functions. The move consolidates many of the technologies underpinning SAP's AI architecture into a single leadership organization.
