Amazon Q Developer and Amazon Q Business are artificial intelligence (AI)-driven generative helpers developed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) that can be used to improve productivity in software development teams as well as business decision-making processes, the company announced.

The software development lifecycle is simplified by the helper of Amazon Q Developer which uses generative AI. It has capabilities to produce code, tests; get rid of bugs and install new code when requested by developers almost instantly. Also, the assistant can autonomously do things like updating software or scanning for and fixing security vulnerabilities.

"Early signs indicate that Amazon Q can help our customers' employees increase productivity at work by more than 80%; and with new features we plan to introduce in the future, we believe this number will continue to grow," said Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Data at AWS.

Meanwhile, the Amazon Q Business assistant aims to empower employees by providing answers to questions about company policies, product information, business performance, codebase, employees, and other topics based on business data. It connects to over 40 commonly used business tools, maintains security and privacy, and allows business users to access relevant statistics.
