Oracle Joins Deloitte’s Smart Factory in Wichita

Oracle partners with Deloitte’s Smart Factory in Wichita to connect manufacturing systems, streamline operations, and advance data-driven production.

Oracle has joined The Smart Factory @ Wichita, an innovation hub developed by Deloitte to support digital transformation in manufacturing. The collaboration focuses on using connected technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and coordination in industrial operations.

As part of this partnership, Oracle contributes its Smart Operations capabilities through Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), integrating data from machines, sensors, and enterprise systems to help manufacturers manage production in real time.

Tim Gaus, principal and Smart Manufacturing business leader at Deloitte, stated, “Our ecosystem at The Smart Factory by Deloitte @ Wichita continues to expand as we evolve to help our clients break down barriers to innovation and become AI-enabled.”

Located on Wichita State University’s Innovation Campus, The Smart Factory operates as a hands-on environment where organizations can test new tools and evaluate connected workflows. It provides practical insights into integrating information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) while reducing inefficiencies between production lines and enterprise systems.

Oracle’s Smart Operations platform connects IT and OT systems through cloud infrastructure, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and data analytics. The platform provides real-time monitoring of production processes, allowing managers to track machine performance, material availability, and operational efficiency.

According to Oracle’s official statement, the collaboration will showcase how manufacturers can automate routine processes, standardize production monitoring, and maintain reliability across operations.

Vikash Goyal, senior vice president at Oracle, said, “Manufacturers gain efficiency and visibility across the factory floor. Our tools help ensure quality, reduce downtime, and optimize output.”

The platform enables reporting tools that analyze historical and current production data to identify bottlenecks and improve process reliability. Its modular architecture allows integration with both modern and legacy systems, making it applicable across discrete and process-based manufacturing environments.

The Smart Factory @ Wichita is a 60,000-square-foot facility designed for research, testing, and industry collaboration. It combines operational equipment, cloud applications, and data analytics platforms to simulate realistic production conditions.

Companies can observe connected factory demonstrations, test workflow improvements, and learn how digital tools function in live production environments. Demonstrations cover predictive maintenance, quality management, and material flow optimization.

The facility provides access to production data and automated systems, allowing manufacturers to measure performance accurately and implement improvements without disrupting operations. It hosts workshops and live demonstrations to train engineers, technicians, and students in digital operations and data analysis.

Strengthening the Manufacturing Ecosystem

The Oracle–Deloitte collaboration emphasizes integrated manufacturing systems that combine operational expertise with enterprise software. Manufacturers face challenges including fragmented data, complex supply chains, and labor constraints. Smart Operations helps consolidate operational data, standardize reporting, and coordinate production with corporate systems.

The collaboration also allows manufacturers to evaluate cost efficiency and sustainability metrics through unified reporting, linking operational, financial, and logistical data in a single platform.

The Smart Factory ecosystem includes multiple industry partners providing robotics, industrial hardware, and cloud solutions. Oracle’s addition strengthens enterprise-level integration capabilities and expands access to cloud-based manufacturing tools.

Manufacturers can use the Wichita facility to develop standardized procedures for connecting data, training staff, and ensuring operational consistency. These initiatives improve supply chain resilience and support informed decision-making across facilities.
