GenScript and Tamarind Bio have partnered to connect AI-powered molecular design with wet-lab validation, aiming to help researchers evaluate drug candidates faster.

GenScript Biotech Corporation and Tamarind Bio announced a strategic partnership on Tuesday to connect AI-powered molecular design with laboratory validation, giving researchers a streamlined workflow to move from computational designs to experimental testing.

The collaboration integrates Tamarind Bio's molecular design platform with GenScript's end-to-end wet-lab services, allowing researchers to submit AI-generated biological sequences directly for synthesis, expression, and testing. The companies said the workflow is designed to reduce manual handoffs between computational design and laboratory validation, helping research teams evaluate promising candidates more efficiently.

According to the announcement, GenScript's validation infrastructure can generate experimental data in as little as four days, enabling scientists to assess AI-generated molecules earlier in the drug discovery process. The company said its biologics expertise and laboratory capabilities are intended to help researchers generate higher-quality experimental datasets that can support downstream development decisions.

Validation Emerges as the Next Challenge

The partnership reflects a broader shift in AI-driven drug discovery as companies increasingly focus on turning computational predictions into experimentally verified results. While AI systems can rapidly generate thousands of molecular candidates, laboratory validation remains one of the most resource-intensive stages of the discovery process.

That transition from AI-generated designs to biological evidence has become a growing focus across the life sciences industry. Recent collaborations, including Chai Discovery's expanded work with Novartis on AI-enabled antibody discovery, highlight how pharmaceutical companies are investing beyond model development and into the infrastructure needed to evaluate promising candidates.

Tamarind Bio's platform provides researchers with access to more than 300 computational biology models through a no-code interface, APIs, and AI agents. Under the partnership, scientists will be able to move molecular designs generated on the platform directly into GenScript's laboratory workflow without leaving the connected environment.

The latest partnership comes as AI drug discovery continues to evolve from generating novel molecules toward producing experimental evidence that can guide development decisions. It also follows broader industry efforts to connect AI-driven discovery with downstream development, including the AI collaboration between Insilico Medicine and Bora Pharmaceuticals.
