Blend's AI Mortgage Agent Is Now Processing 3,500 Loans a Week

Blend Labs announced on October 12, 2026 that a tenth lender has joined Blend Autopilot, its agentic AI platform for home lending. The milestone comes six months after Autopilot began processing live loans and three months after it became commercially available.

The platform is currently working on more than 3,500 new loans per week, an annualized pace of nearly 200,000 loans, according to the press release.

Autopilot was built around a specific structural problem in mortgage origination: more than half of borrower activity happens outside of standard business hours, leaving document submissions sitting unreviewed for hours or longer.

The platform addresses this by reviewing documents as they are uploaded, comparing them against lending guidelines, identifying missing or inconsistent information, and generating follow-up requests while borrowers are still engaged with their application.

The agents handle work across document review, income review, borrower follow-ups, pre-underwriting, and closing quality control, according to the press release.

Previously reported production results show 10% to 15% higher pull-through rates, cycle times shortened by two to four days, and 4.5 hours of fulfillment work automated per loan on average.

Onity Mortgage, which serves 1.4 million customers and is one of Autopilot's earliest adopters, described the operational impact specifically.

"Customers are uploading documents when it's convenient to them — this is weekends, this is after our business hours — and when they upload a document, instead of the document sitting there and being picked up hours later, Autopilot's pre-underwriting agent is reviewing that automatically," said Patrick Joyce, VP of Digital Products at Onity Mortgage.

Onity is also expanding its use of Blend's MCP Server to power voice agents that can answer routine application questions around the clock.

The latest lenders to sign on include Whatcom Educational Credit Union, one of Washington's largest credit unions, and Gate City Bank, alongside other community financial institutions and regional banks.

Lenders can deploy Blend's purpose-built agents or build their own through Blend's MCP Server, which provides access to the company's lending data, 150-plus integrations, and workflow controls built over nearly 15 years. In 2025, Blend helped financial institutions process nearly $1.3 trillion in loan applications, according to the press release.

"We're moving fast, our customers are moving fast with us, and together we're leading the agentic transformation of lending," said Nima Ghamsari, Co-founder and Head of Blend.
