How is Brookfield Expanding AI Power Partnership?

The expanded funding is intended to grow the companies' fuel cell partnership on a global scale.

On June 30, 2026, Bloom Energy, a global provider of onsite fuel cell power systems and Brookfield, the global investment firm, announced an expansion of their strategic partnership, increasing Brookfield's financing framework for AI infrastructure power projects from $5 billion  to $25 billion.

The increase represents a fivefold expansion since October 2025 and is aimed to support rapid deployment of fuel cell power for AI data centers globally, the companies said.

"When we formed this partnership, we said it was the first phase of a much larger vision," said Aman Joshi, Chief Commercial Officer of Bloom Energy. "Today's commitment reflects the momentum we are seeing in the market, as evidenced by recently announced large-scale deals."

Joshi added that Bloom is "uniquely positioned to address the urgent need for clean, reliable power to support the rapid growth of AI."

The expanded partnership sits within Brookfield's dedicated AI Infrastructure Fund, which launched in November 2025 with a stated target of deploying $100 billion.

Constructing Power for AI

The partnership combines Brookfield's infrastructure development and capital access with Bloom's onsite power platform, which the companies said can be deployed rapidly compared to traditional grid connections.

Together, Brookfield and Bloom are advancing a model for AI data centers, or "AI factories," that integrates power generation, compute, data center infrastructure, and capital from the start of a project.

The companies said the expansion reflects sustained demand from hyperscalers and AI infrastructure developers for power that is fast to deploy, reliable, and acceptable to local communities

Sikander Rashid, Head of AI Infrastructure at Brookfield, said the increased commitment reflects "both the strength of this partnership and the conviction behind our broader AI infrastructure strategy, including integrated compute." The move strengthens Brookfield's position as a provider of end-to-end solutions "from electrons to tokens" for large-scale customers according to Rashid.

The companies said the expanded partnership will continue to focus on delivering integrated power and infrastructure solutions as AI-related power demand continues to grow globally.
