Oracle and NetSuite Launch AI-Powered Back-Office Platform for Restaurants

"Restaurant Operations brings the power of Oracle and NetSuite together in a unified solution with AI embedded across workflows to help automate routine tasks and surface operational trends."

Oracle and Oracle NetSuite announced Oracle NetSuite Restaurant Operations at SuiteConnect London on March 31, bringing together back-office functions that restaurant and hospitality operators have traditionally managed across separate systems.

The platform consolidates inventory, procurement, scheduling, production, and cash management data in a single system, with AI embedded across workflows to automate routine tasks and surface operational trends.

The company says that Restaurant Operations is built on more than 25 years of Oracle and NetSuite hospitality and restaurant financial practices and is designed to work with Oracle Simphony Cloud as well as other point-of-sale systems.

Operators using multiple POS environments can consolidate data from those systems into a centralized view of key performance indicators, trends, and reporting across locations.

The platform includes an enhanced user interface with materials control and inventory tools, along with AI-driven analysis that provides insights and recommendations for inventory management. The AI toolsets are designed to handle repetitive tasks and identify patterns that support faster operational decisions, according to the company.

"Restaurants have traditionally relied on a patchwork of systems to manage inventory, purchasing, finance, and other critical processes," said Brian Chess, senior vice president of AI, product, and technology, Oracle NetSuite.

According to Brian, Restaurant Operations brings the power of Oracle and NetSuite together in a unified solution with AI embedded across workflows to help automate routine tasks and surface operational trends.

By connecting operational and financial data in one system, businesses gain real-time visibility into performance across locations, reduce complexity, and make faster, more informed decisions.

The platform is designed for restaurants of any size, from single-location operators to global franchise groups. It supports localization in over 110 countries, 190 currencies, and 27 languages, and will be generally available globally within the next 12 months.

Alex Alt, executive vice president and general manager, Oracle Commercial Cloud Applications said that Restaurant and hospitality leaders are under pressure to drive operational efficiencies and do more with less, while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

"Restaurant Operations brings together deep industry-specific expertise, leading technology, and data management in a unified platform with AI-enhanced workflows. With these AI-powered capabilities, restaurant and hospitality leaders can optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and unlock rapid innovation at scale in their Oracle Simphony Cloud or multi-point-of-sale environments," said Alex.

The announcement follows Oracle's launch of Smart Assistant capabilities in its Simphony Cloud Point of Sale system on March 18, which embedded generative AI into the front-line POS interface to help restaurant staff resolve technical and operational issues in real time.
