Schnucks is a family-owned Midwestern grocery chain operating over 100 stores across Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, with deep roots in community-centered retail.

Tom Henry joined Schnucks in 2019 after serving as Chief Data Officer at Express Scripts, where he led enterprise analytics strategy for one of the largest pharmacy benefit managers in the US.

At Schnucks, he built the company's data and analytics organization from the ground up and today holds responsibility for both the strategic planning and execution of Schnucks' discriminative and generative AI strategies.

He has been recognized by DataIQ as one of the USA's 100 Most Influential People in Data and Analytics, serves as chair of the University of Missouri's Data Science Program Industry Advisory Board, and sits on Washington University's board for the Center for Analytics and Business Insights. His framing of AI's role in grocery captures the structural shift happening across the industry.

"AI has evolved into a foundational engine of modern grocery, shifting the industry from reactive retail to anticipatory commerce. We are seeing a systemic transition where machine learning no longer just assists grocery activities, it prescribes and optimizes them, powering everything from personalized consumer agents to supply chains that reduce food waste," Tom told AIM Media House.
