Shopify has seamlessly integrated several AI and generative AI-powered applications into its platform to enhance merchant capabilities and improve customer experiences.
Shopify's story began in 2004 when Tobias Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake embarked on a mission to create an online store to sell snowboarding equipment. Dissatisfied with the existing e-commerce platforms, Lütke, a computer programmer, decided to build his own. This led to the launch of Snowdevil, a precursor to Shopify, in 2006.
