How will Navan streamline Evotec's travel management?

The global drug discovery company will roll out the platform across five countries, replacing a patchwork of manual, country-specific expense processes.
On July 23, 2026, Navan, the AI-powered business travel and expense platform, announced that Evotec, the global drug discovery and development company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany (per Evotec's public company profile), has selected the platform to manage its complete corporate Travel and Expense (T&E) program across its top global markets.
“Simplifying processes and strengthening operational excellence while enabling our employees with efficient tools are key priorities for Evotec,” said Kay Prätorius, VP Procurement at Evotec. “Transitioning to the single, intuitive Navan platform will enhance the overall user experience, providing real-time visibility and control over our global travel and expense activities.”
According to the companies, Evotec had previously managed T&E independently by country, requiring employees to navigate different tools and manual offline processes in each market. The company said this fragmented approach is being replaced with a single platform intended to support consistency, transparency, and efficiency across its operations.
Rollout and Functionality
According to Navan the platform is powered by Navan Cognition, the company's enterprise-grade AI layer, which drives its virtual assistant Ava alongside purpose-built agents for tasks like audit, reconciliation, and expense processing. Navan's AI Sort feature analyzes over 35 data points per search to personalize travel results based on traveler preferences, company policy, and historical booking patterns.
On the expense side, Navan Expense automatically captures more than 130 data points per transaction, including GL codes, cost centers, and attendee information pulled from calendar integrations. The system also offers proactive spend controls, giving employees feedback at the point of purchase, with transactions auto-approved, flagged for review, or declined at the point of sale.
For traveler support, Ava handles thousands of daily interactions, resolving routine requests directly and escalating more complex situations to human agents with full context.
Evotec is deploying Navan across Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, and France, the companies said. The goal is to simplify the user experience and cut down on manual data entry by automating reconciliation directly from the point of swipe. Navan describes itself broadly as a platform that combines business travel booking, payments and expense management while automating expense reconciliation and providing 24/7 traveler support.
Zahir Abdelouhab, SVP, Enterprise Sales, EMEA at Navan, said the partnership reflects a broader pattern the company has observed among its customers. "We often see significant efficiency gains when organizations upgrade and modernize their travel and expense systems," Abdelouhab said. "Evotec is taking an important step in further streamlining and standardizing its processes and Navan is supporting this by bringing greater clarity and simplicity to travel and expense management, supporting teams in focusing on their core work."
Evotec said that the rollout is part of its broader focus on operational excellence.
