On August 12, Ryanair announced a five-year partnership with Google Cloud that deploys two distinct layers of AI across its operations. Gemini Enterprise for decision automation and crew scheduling, and Google DeepMind models for fleet and maintenance optimization, while rolling out Google Workspace to 35,000 employees across the airline's network.
Ryanair already operates on Amazon Web Services and the Google Cloud partnership is framed as a dual-cloud strategy — two cloud providers running in parallel to reduce the single-vendor outage risk that has become a material operational concern for airlines following several high-profile technology failures across the industry in 2024 and 2025.
"To support this growth, we need to ensure we have excellent infrastructure resilience, and our new dual-cloud strategy provides this, alongside technology partners that match our speed and relentless focus on efficiency," said Eddie Wilson, CEO of Ryanair.
