EverQuote and Waniwani Are Building the Distribution Layer for Agentic Insurance

"Discoverability and engagement are being redefined in real time as AI agents take on a larger role."
Insurance has always been sold through agents, brokers, and digital ads. The channel was always human or human-adjacent. EverQuote and Waniwani announced an exclusive commercial partnership on August 10, 2026 to address what happens when an AI agent is the one recommending a policy before the consumer has ever interacted with a carrier.
The problem has three components that the partnership is designed to address simultaneously, according to the press release. The first is Discovery, to focus on helping insurers make their products discoverable through AI channels and optimize engagement as consumers use AI agents for product research.
Then comes Conversion, whether the insurer can win the transaction the agent is facilitating rather than losing it to a competitor the agent surfaces first. And finally Compliance, to distribute insurance products through an autonomous AI agent that satisfies the regulatory requirements that govern how insurance is sold, licensed, and disclosed in the US.
"Insurance is one of the most complex purchases a consumer makes, and increasingly there's an AI agent in the middle of that decision," said Robin Diligent, CEO of Waniwani. "But getting discovered by that agent is only the start, the hard part is dynamically optimizing the full funnel to win customers and maximize revenue."
EverQuote's existing business sits at the center of P&C distribution in the US, connecting carriers and licensed agents with consumers through digital channels. The Waniwani integration extends that position into the agentic layer.
The integration will give EverQuote's P&C insurance customers access to Waniwani's infrastructure for agentic discovery, conversion optimization, and built-in compliance, according to the press release
"Discoverability and engagement are being redefined in real time as AI agents take on a larger role in how people find and choose products and services," said Jayme Mendal, CEO of EverQuote. "We will give our customers the tools they need to stay visible and competitive in this new landscape, not just for today's digital channels, but for the agentic AI channels that are quickly becoming just as important."
EverQuote has made a strategic minority equity investment in Waniwani alongside the commercial agreement to support joint development of future solutions as the agentic insurance distribution infrastructure continues to develop.
