LCMC Health has partnered with Qualified Health to deploy generative artificial intelligence across its healthcare system, extending AI beyond individual applications into clinical care, operations, and revenue-cycle workflows.

The Louisiana-based nonprofit health system announced the partnership on August 11. The initiative will use Qualified Health’s healthcare-focused generative AI platform across LCMC Health, with the system targeting 15,000 clinicians and staff.

The platform includes generative AI tools, automated agent development, access controls, patient-consent safeguards, governance controls, and real-time performance monitoring. Qualified Health describes its platform as a unified layer for deploying and governing AI across clinical, operational, and financial systems.

The partnership also reflects a growing effort among health systems to move AI into existing workflows while maintaining centralized oversight.

LCMC Health Targets System-Wide AI Deployment

LCMC Health plans to use Qualified Health to identify patients who may be overdue for recommended care, screenings, or follow-up services. The companies said the technology will embed these capabilities into clinical and operational workflows rather than operate as a separate system.

The approach has parallels with other health systems working with Qualified Health. Jefferson Health, for example, has been using the platform as part of an effort to deploy governed AI across clinical and administrative workflows.

Qualified Health's platform is designed to connect with core clinical, operational, and financial systems through a single integration. The company says it supports centralized governance, role-based access controls, audit trails, risk-based safeguards, and post-deployment monitoring.

LCMC Health CEO Greg Feirn said the partnership would help the system expand its use of AI while supporting clinicians and patient care.

Ryan Hildebrand, Chief Administrative Officer at LCMC Health, said the system viewed AI as an opportunity to strengthen operations and improve the care experience.

Healthcare AI Moves Toward Governance and Integration

The governance component is becoming more important as health systems expand the number of AI systems operating across their organizations. Hartford HealthCare, for instance, partnered with Vitea in May to monitor AI performance and strengthen governance across its healthcare network.

Other deployments have focused on placing AI directly inside systems clinicians already use. Sutter Health integrated an AI evidence platform into Epic workflows, giving physicians access to clinical guidelines and research within the electronic health record.

Qualified Health has increasingly positioned its business around this enterprise model. In March, it announced a $125 million Series B led by New Enterprise Associates, saying the funding would support its work with health systems seeking to deploy AI across their organizations.

The company said more than 500,000 users are now served through health-system deployments and describes its platform as a way to centralize AI workflows, models, governance, and performance tracking.

For LCMC Health, the partnership puts those capabilities into a broader system-level strategy spanning patient care, administrative work, and revenue-cycle operations. The organizations did not disclose financial terms of the agreement.
