Airo for WordPress attempts to resolve that tension by bringing AI-assisted creation and editing inside the WordPress environment itself, rather than sitting alongside it as a separate tool.

Users create and launch a site through a conversational chat interface without leaving the native WordPress dashboard, with automatic plugin installation and configuration handled by the AI based on the business's needs.

"Small businesses and agencies have long faced a tradeoff where website builders are easy but limiting, while WordPress is powerful but complex," said Bhala Dalvi, Vice President of Engineering at GoDaddy. "Airo for WordPress eliminates that by bringing the speed and simplicity of AI together with the flexibility and ownership of WordPress."

The feature that distinguishes Airo for WordPress from most AI website builders is its post-launch capability. Rather than ending at site creation, the tool supports the full lifecycle of a website, according to the press release.

Users can create blog posts, update product listings, and refresh webpages through a single prompt after the site is live. The system continues making AI-driven improvements over time, allowing sites to evolve without requiring manual technical work for each update.

Users have two editing paths, AI-assisted or the native WordPress editor, and can switch between them without friction. That dual-path design preserves the flexibility that professional WordPress users expect while making the platform accessible to those who have no prior WordPress experience.

For e-commerce, Airo generates a complete WooCommerce storefront from a single conversation with no manual configuration, according to the press release.

According to the company, users retain access to more than 60,000 WordPress plugins and maintain full ownership of their site and data with no platform lock-in, a meaningful distinction from proprietary website builders that own the underlying infrastructure.

Airo for WordPress is available with a seven-day free trial. GoDaddy says it is designed for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and agencies managing WordPress websites, including those overseeing multiple client sites simultaneously.
