Rockwell Automation Joins Anthropic’s Project Glasswing to Advance AI Cyber Defense

Rockwell security teams will use controlled access to Claude Mythos 5 to identify, validate, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities in software and connected industrial systems.
Rockwell Automation has joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, a cybersecurity initiative that gives approved organizations access to advanced AI models for defensive security work.
The industrial automation company announced the partnership on 09/15. Through controlled access to Claude Mythos 5, Rockwell’s security teams are exploring ways to accelerate the discovery, validation, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities across software and connected systems used by manufacturers.
The initiative puts an AI model developed for cybersecurity into the security workflow of a company whose products are used across industrial automation environments. Rockwell said the work is focused on identifying and addressing vulnerabilities while maintaining a controlled, defensive approach.

Anthropic Expands Project Glasswing
Anthropic launched Project Glasswing in April 2026 to provide approved organizations with access to Claude Mythos Preview for defensive cybersecurity work. The company initially brought roughly 50 partners into the initiative and later expanded it to approximately 150 additional organizations across more than 15 countries.
The expansion included organizations supporting critical infrastructure in areas such as power, water, healthcare, communications, and hardware. Anthropic has described the program as an effort to help defenders find vulnerabilities earlier and address them before attackers can exploit them.
The initiative builds on Mythos’s ability to perform cybersecurity tasks that traditionally require significant amounts of specialized expertise and manual analysis. Anthropic reported that participants in the initial phase had identified thousands of high- and critical-severity vulnerabilities.

Rockwell’s 2025 annual report identified cybersecurity as a material consideration for the company because its products are used in critical infrastructure and manufacturing. It also highlighted risks involving vulnerabilities in software and hardware supply chains.
The company maintains a security advisory program covering vulnerabilities affecting its products, including industrial control and FactoryTalk technologies. Project Glasswing could give Rockwell another tool for finding and assessing weaknesses across the software and connected systems that form part of these environments.
The collaboration also places industrial cybersecurity alongside other critical-infrastructure applications for Anthropic’s technology. JPMorganChase, for example, joined Project Glasswing during its initial phase as organizations began testing Mythos for defensive cybersecurity applications. Its participation in the initiative showed the program extending beyond technology companies into sectors where software vulnerabilities can have operational consequences.
For Rockwell, the project is intended to support faster vulnerability handling and more resilient products as manufacturers connect operational technology, data, and production systems. The company said the work will also inform continued investment in security across the industrial systems used in modern manufacturing.
