Careset Names Sepideh Naseri as Chief Data and Analytics Officer

Sepideh Naseri takes charge of CareSet’s data and AI strategy, focusing on healthcare analytics, machine learning, and responsible use of government health data.

CareSet has appointed Sepideh Naseri as Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Naseri joins the healthcare analytics firm with over two decades of experience building analytics infrastructure in healthcare and financial services, including work on AI platforms under regulatory oversight.

Her new role will focus on leading data science, engineering, and analytics operations at CareSet, which specializes in Medicare and Medicaid claims data, providing insights to pharmaceutical, biotech, health-system, and payor clients.

Leadership Appointment

In the newly created role, Naseri will oversee enterprise data and analytics strategy at CareSet. She will lead the integration of new data assets, development of machine-learning pipelines, and establishment of quality and governance protocols.

CareSet Co-Founder and CEO Ashish Patel said, “Naseri is a recognized analytics leader who has built analytics infrastructure from the ground up that performs under regulatory scrutiny while unlocking the massive impacts held within data. She will lead our data strategy and build systems that let us serve more clients without compromising on data quality or compliance.”

Commenting on her appointment, Naseri said, “Government health data represents the care that 65 million Medicare beneficiaries receive. The work is about building systems that help organisations understand what’s actually happening in that data. The technical problems are hard, the governance requirements are exacting, but getting it right matters.”

Before joining CareSet, Naseri held several senior analytics and technology positions, focusing on operationalizing artificial intelligence in regulated industries. She has led initiatives in data architecture modernization, predictive modeling, and enterprise-level governance frameworks designed to ensure that AI systems meet compliance and audit standards.

At CareSet, her role will also include aligning AI-driven analytics with the company’s mission of “noble data use,” a principle emphasizing ethical, transparent, and equitable access to healthcare insights derived from public data sources.

Focus on Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence

CareSet operates in the field of claims-based healthcare analytics, utilising government data sources such as Medicare and Medicaid to deliver population-health insights, cost and quality outcomes, and research-grade analytics to clients.

Naseri’s remit will include integrating new data assets, developing machine-learning and AI-enabled pipelines, and enforcing the analytics quality protocols that pharmaceutical, biotech, and health-system clients rely on. The firm emphasizes the responsible use of government health data to support real-world utilisation, provider network analytics, and population-health research.

The company’s analytics framework combines traditional statistical models with AI techniques such as natural language processing and unsupervised learning to detect emerging healthcare trends. These approaches help clients better understand provider performance, treatment efficacy, and disparities in patient outcomes.

Naseri’s prior experience includes leadership in analytics infrastructure builds under regulatory scrutiny across both healthcare and financial services. Her academic background combines advanced technical training and executive education, with a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from Tehran University and executive programs completed at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. She also serves on the advisory board for the Computer Science department at Old Dominion University and is a member of the World Leaders in Data & AI group.

CareSet’s broader mission is to use healthcare data to improve transparency, analytics, and patient-outcome measurement. The firm serves pharmaceutical and biotech companies, health systems, payors, and accountable care organisations by delivering insights drawn from Medicare and Medicaid claims data. Its work supports research into provider networks, social determinants of health, and cost and quality outcomes, strengthening the role of data in advancing healthcare decision-making.
