Hippo, the digital home insurance company, has named Robin Gordon as its new Chief Data Officer. Gordon will head the company’s data strategy, operations, and analytics.

“I’m excited to join Hippo at such a pivotal moment,” Gordon said. Hippo’s technology-driven platform and diversified portfolio provide a strong foundation for sustainable growth. I look forward to partnering with the leadership team to advance innovation, strengthen risk management, and deliver lasting value for customers and stakeholders.”

Hippo provides homeowners insurance through digital platforms, offering coverage, claims management, and risk assessment services. The company has invested in systems that simplify insurance for customers while maintaining operational efficiency.

Rick McCathron, President and CEO of Hippo, stated, “Robin Gordon’s appointment underscores Hippo’s position as a technology-driven insurer, leveraging advanced data and analytics to build a diversified portfolio of insurance risk.”

Her expertise covers scalable data systems, reporting structures, and alignment of analytics with business objectives. Gordon has led teams responsible for data governance, strategy, and operational analytics.

Prior to Hippo, Gordon guided the creation of data infrastructures and analytical processes in multiple organizations, standardizing reporting and making information accessible for decision-making.

Gordon said, “Effective use of data requires both structure and accessibility. My goal is to ensure that teams across Hippo have the tools and insights needed to make clear, actionable decisions.”

What Gordon Will Handle at Hippo

In her role as Chief Data Officer, Gordon will manage data collection, storage, and analysis while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. She will coordinate with company teams to apply insights to pricing, risk management, and customer service.
