Cognizant Expands Google Cloud Partnership to Scale Gemini Enterprise Adoption

Cognizant has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate enterprise adoption of Gemini Enterprise, combining jointly delivered AI solutions with its Frontier Certified Engineers and expanding the use of Google's AI technologies across its own global workforce. The announcement builds on the companies' earlier collaboration around Gemini Enterprise and reflects a broader push to help enterprises move AI projects from experimentation into production. 

The expanded collaboration brings together Cognizant's Frontier Certified Engineer delivery model, reusable AI agents, and Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise portfolio, including Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. According to Cognizant, its engineers work alongside client teams to assess existing workflows, evaluate AI agents, and deploy them into production environments. The partnership builds on the dedicated Gemini Enterprise practice the companies introduced in April.

Cognizant expands internal deployment of Gemini Enterprise

As part of the expanded partnership, Cognizant is deploying Gemini Enterprise and Google Workspace across its own operations to establish delivery practices it can extend to customers. The company said internal deployments span software engineering, project delivery, customer support, and agentic workforce applications.

Cognizant said software engineering teams are using Antigravity 2.0 together with Gemini Enterprise for tasks including code explanation, automated test generation, and legacy application modernization. Based on internal benchmarks, the company reported software development velocity improvements of up to 30%.

The company also said role-based AI agents are expected to automate between 60% and 70% of manual effort within selected workflows. Cognizant plans to deploy Gemini Enterprise to 100,000 associates this year, expand availability to 200,000 over time, and certify at least 10,000 professionals on the platform. 

Partnership targets production-ready enterprise AI

The companies are jointly targeting industries including retail and consumer goods, healthcare and life sciences, communications, media and technology, and financial services through a portfolio of AI offerings designed to shorten deployment timelines.

According to Cognizant, the offerings include Frontier Certified Engineers embedded alongside Google Cloud teams, an agentic employee platform for role-specific AI agents, contact center solutions built on Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, and rapid AI agent development through Cognizant's Agent Foundry. The company said Agent Foundry has created more than 2,000 agents and can reduce development cycles from months to two-week sprints. 

Cognizant also highlighted an early customer deployment involving a U.S. communications and entertainment provider. The company said the project improved first-contact resolution by 17% compared with pre-deployment baselines and enabled nearly one-third of appointment requests to be handled through AI-powered automation after Gemini-based agents were deployed in approximately three months. 

The announcement represents the latest step in a partnership that has expanded steadily this year, following an earlier strategic agreement focused on operationalizing agentic AI at enterprise scale and the launch of Cognizant's dedicated Gemini Enterprise practice.
