Genpact Trained Its AML AI on Millions of Real Investigations. Now It Is Selling the Result.

"What sets Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst apart is the operating expertise behind the AI."

Genpact on July 23, 2026, launched the Banking Analyst Suite, an enterprise agentic AI solution for regulated banking operations whose first module targets the first-level AML alert investigation.

The first module, Transaction Monitoring Analyst, automates the first-level AML investigation workflow rather than alert scoring. The system coordinates AI agents to assess customer behavior, analyze the flagged transaction, validate the customer profile, and review prior alert history, then delivers a decision-ready recommendation with documented rationale and a full audit trail for the analyst to review. The analyst makes the final call. The system takes no regulated action without human approval.

"What sets Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst apart is the operating expertise behind the AI," said Satish Acharya, Service Line Leader for Financial Crime and Risk Management at Genpact. "We have run financial crime programs for some of the world's largest financial institutions, and we have built that knowledge into how these AI agents investigate."

Genpact said it modeled the AI agents on investigation workflows developed through its financial crime operations, where it reviews millions of AML alerts each year for large financial institutions. Investigation workflows embedded in the system reflect real operational practice rather than a theoretical model of what an AML review should look like.

The product targets the investigation stage that follows automated alert generation, rather than the alert-scoring process itself.

The bottleneck is the first-level investigation that follows a positive score: determining whether the alert represents genuine suspicious activity or a false positive, documenting the rationale, and producing a defensible record for regulators. Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst is designed to complete that workflow, according to the press release.

Expected outcomes for in-scope investigations include up to 80% lower handling time and up to 40% lower total cost of ownership, projections Genpact explicitly qualified as varying by client environment, operating model, data quality, and implementation scope.

AMP Limited, the Australia and New Zealand-based financial services company, is among the first to deploy the product alongside Genpact's existing riskCanvas financial crime platform.

"Agentic AI offers significant potential to reduce manual effort, enhance analyst productivity, and enable greater focus on complex cases that require human expertise," said Sean O'Malley, Group Executive at AMP Bank.

Genpact plans to extend the Banking Analyst Suite beyond AML into customer due diligence, screening, fraud, customer service, and other regulated banking workflows.
