Zoom’s AI Push Is Starting To Show Up In Enterprise Growth

Zoom’s Enterprise business accelerated in Q2 as AI products, Contact Center and Phone helped the company expand beyond its meetings roots.

Zoom's Enterprise business grew 7.8% year over year in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, its fastest growth rate in three years. The business accounted for 62% of Zoom's $1.28 billion in quarterly revenue, up from 60% a year earlier.

The result came as customers expanded their use of Zoom beyond Meetings. Zoom Phone continued to grow in the teens, Contact Center posted high-double-digit growth, and the company reported increasing adoption of products including Zoom Virtual Agent, ZoomMate and Zoom Revenue Accelerator.

Total revenue increased 4.9% year over year, while Zoom raised its full-year revenue forecast to $5.085 billion-$5.095 billion. At the same time, the company expects its Online business to be flat for the full fiscal year, leaving Enterprise growth increasingly important to its results.

Enterprise Growth Is Pulling Zoom Beyond Meetings

Zoom's Enterprise customers are buying more products together, with AI increasingly appearing alongside Phone and Contact Center.

The company said one of the largest U.S. tech companies renewed Zoom Workplace in a deal that increased its annual recurring revenue by $1.9 million. A major U.S. wealth manager upgraded to Zoom Workplace Enterprise Premier and rolled out Zoom Phone across the organization, replacing multiple vendors.

QXO, a North American distributor and installer of building products, chose Zoom Phone for roughly 8,000 employees alongside Zoom Contact Center. The company plans to use the products to bring its communications systems together, integrate with Microsoft Teams and automatically update its CRM from live interactions, Zoom said.

Phone is also becoming a route into Zoom's newer products. Chief Financial Officer Michelle Chang said 10 of Zoom's top 10 Phone deals in Q2 involved takeouts, while five of the top 10 also included Contact Center. She also said Phone was helping create demand for Zoom Revenue Accelerator, ZoomMate and Zoom Virtual Agent.

The company reported that licensed monthly active users of Workplace AI features increased 125% year over year. ZoomMate, launched in June, adds agentic search and workflow capabilities that can use information from Zoom and other enterprise systems. The product extends the company's AI offering into tasks that follow conversations rather than only summarizing them.

The launch followed Zoom's expansion into agentic AI for meetings and calls, with the company adding tools intended to connect conversations with actions and workflows.

Zoom is also adding AI to its employee experience business. Workvivo surpassed $100 million in ARR during the quarter, and Zoom launched Workvivo HQ as an AI-native digital headquarters. A global luxury retail brand selected Workvivo HQ and plans to use its agent to help frontline employees find information from company policies and databases.

Contact Center Is Emerging As An AI Growth Driver

Customer experience is one of the clearest areas where Zoom's AI products are generating revenue.

Zoom said CX ARR grew at a high-double-digit rate year over year in Q2 and that the company recorded a quarterly record for seven-figure ARR deals. Paid AI was included in nine of its 10 largest CX deals.

Zoom Virtual Agent customer count increased more than 250% year over year. The product's voice and chat agents can answer questions, complete multi-step workflows and transfer conversations to human agents with the interaction history attached.

Customers are adopting the product in different ways. Six of Zoom's top 10 Virtual Agent deals in Q2 also included Contact Center, while four of its top 10 Contact Center deals included Virtual Agent. Seven of the 10 largest Contact Center deals used Zoom's Elite offering, which combines human agents with AI assistance.

A major U.S. bank expanded its existing Zoom Contact Center Elite deployment and added Virtual Agent to handle self-service alongside AI-assisted human support. A leading Enterprise software company also selected Virtual Agent Voice as an extension of its existing Zoom Phone deployment.

The developments come as companies are adding AI agents to customer service operations and changing how contact centers handle routine interactions. Enterprise AI is increasingly being used to automate customer service work, while human agents remain involved when an issue requires escalation.

Zoom is also testing different pricing models for these products. Chang said Virtual Agent uses usage-based pricing in many cases, while Zoom also supports outcome-based pricing. Founder, President, CEO and Chairman Eric Yuan said the company expects outcome-based pricing to become more significant as Virtual Agent gains market share.

The company is using the same approach in other newer products. Yuan said Zoom is also considering outcome-based pricing for products such as Revenue Accelerator and BrightHire when it makes sense for customers.

Zoom Is Adding More Products To Enterprise Deals

The enterprise expansion extends into sales and revenue operations. Zoom Revenue Accelerator's paid customer count increased 41% year over year in Q2, while the company completed its $250 million acquisition of Common Room in July.

Common Room provides buyer intelligence that Zoom plans to combine with Revenue Accelerator. The company said the acquisition would help identify in-market accounts, buyers and reasons to engage, adding another product to its sales technology portfolio. Zoom described the revenue contribution from Common Room as de minimis relative to its roughly $5 billion annual revenue base.

The financial indicators also point to larger enterprise commitments. Zoom's remaining performance obligations increased 14% year over year to approximately $4.5 billion, with non-current RPO rising 25%. Chang attributed the increase to larger, longer-term, multi-product deals.

Zoom's enterprise net dollar expansion rate reached 99%, up one percentage point from a year earlier. The company also reported an 8% year-over-year increase in the number of Enterprise customers generating more than $100,000 in trailing-12-month revenue. Those customers now account for 33% of total revenue.

The company is still dealing with slower growth in its Online business. Average monthly churn remained at 2.9% in Q2, but Zoom lowered its full-year expectation for Online growth from slight growth to flat growth after seeing changes in customer discovery and top-of-funnel activity.

AI adoption is also affecting costs. Non-GAAP gross margin fell to 79.1% from 79.8% a year earlier, while operating margin declined to 40% from 41.3%. Chang said increased AI usage contributed to higher expenses during the quarter and that Zoom would work to optimize those costs in the second half.

Zoom ended Q2 with $7.2 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities and generated $472 million in free cash flow. It raised its full-year free cash flow forecast to $1.78 billion-$1.82 billion.

The second-quarter results leave Zoom with a clear divide in its business. Enterprise revenue is accelerating as customers add Phone, Contact Center, Workvivo and newer AI products, while the Online business is no longer expected to grow this year.
