SailPoint’s AI-Driven ARR Surpasses $70 Million as Agentic Security Demand Grows

SailPoint’s AI-driven ARR topped $70 million in Q2 FY2027, while its AI pipeline more than doubled and SaaS ARR reached $847 million.

SailPoint’s AI business crossed $70 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, as demand for tools that govern artificial intelligence agents helped drive more than 30% of the company’s net new ARR.

The identity security company reported total ARR of $1.231 billion for the quarter ended 07/31, up 25% year over year. SaaS ARR rose 36% to $847 million, while total revenue increased 17% to $309 million.

SailPoint’s AI-driven pipeline also more than doubled to over $200 million since its June Investor Day. The company said customers that adopted an AI-driven solution increased their annual spending by more than 60%, while more than two-thirds of SaaS migrations during the quarter included an AI-driven solution.

The results come as enterprises expand the use of AI agents that can access data and systems without direct human intervention. The shift has created a new identity-security challenge alongside the broader expansion of enterprise AI. For example, Okta’s AI-agent push has also focused on managing identities and access as autonomous systems become more common.

SailPoint Expands Agentic Identity Security

SailPoint has been building its AI strategy around the idea that enterprises need to govern both human and non-human identities through a common security framework.

In August, the company launched its SailPoint Identity Security solution, combining Agentic Fabric for AI agents and other non-human identities with Human Fabric, the evolution of its Identity Security Cloud. Agentic Fabric was made generally available as part of the launch.

During the earnings call, CEO Mark McClain said SailPoint’s AI-driven solutions accounted for more than 30% of net new ARR in Q2. He also said the company had seen growing demand from customers seeking to understand which agents exist in their environments, what those agents can access and which humans are responsible for them.

That focus puts SailPoint into a cybersecurity market increasingly concerned with continuous identity controls for autonomous systems, a theme also emerging in CrowdStrike’s approach to continuous identity security for AI agents.

SailPoint also completed its acquisition of Entro Security during the quarter. Entro added technology for discovering and securing non-human identities and credentials, including more than 1,200 types of secrets, tokens and certificates across enterprise environments.

The company said the acquisition had contributed less than $3 million in ARR during the quarter, with currency headwinds more than offsetting that contribution.

SaaS Transition Creates Revenue Timing Impact

SailPoint’s stronger ARR performance did not translate directly into revenue growth because of its continuing transition from upfront license sales to subscription-based SaaS contracts.

Chief Financial Officer Brian Carolan said the higher SaaS mix created a $5 million revenue timing headwind in Q2. SaaS accounted for 97% of net new ARR during the quarter, above the company’s guided range.

SailPoint’s remaining performance obligation (RPO) reached $1.9 billion, up 30% year over year, while free cash flow was $37 million. Net revenue retention remained 113%.

For fiscal 2027, SailPoint raised its ARR guidance to $1.38 billion, representing 23% growth, while maintaining revenue guidance of about $1.27 billion. The company expects approximately $200 million in free cash flow for the year.

SailPoint is targeting at least $2.1 billion in ARR by fiscal 2029, including at least $800 million from AI-driven solutions. Management said the company remained on track toward those targets as AI-driven demand expands and more customers migrate to its SaaS platform.

The company also has a strategic collaboration with AWS around identity governance for agentic AI, extending its push into infrastructure supporting autonomous AI systems.
