How is Vantage Data Centers Expanding Capacity?

Stoner will oversee market development, site selection, and energy procurement as the company scales capacity for AI and cloud customers.

On June 29, 2026 Vantage Data Centers, a global provider of hyperscale data center campuses, announced the promotion of Michael Stoner to Chief Development Officer, North America.  The company said that  Stoner will report to Dana Adams, President of North America.

“Michael has played a central role in shaping Vantage’s North American development platform over the past decade,” said Adams. “His ability to connect customer demand, land strategy, power availability and execution discipline is unmatched as we continue scaling to support the next generation of cloud and AI workloads.”

Supporting AI Infrastructure Growth

According to the company, Stoner will lead its North American development strategy, focusing on expanding data center campuses and securing power-ready capacity to support increasing demand from cloud and AI customers.

Stoner will oversee market development, site selection, energy procurement, campus readiness, and preconstruction activities. According to the company, these responsibilities are intended to align Vantage's development pipeline with long-term customer demand and business growth objectives.

“I’m proud of what our team has accomplished and excited to help lead the next phase of development across North America as we expand capacity, strengthen our energy strategy and continue delivering for our customers," said Stoner.

Stoner joined Vantage as a consultant in 2014 and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Market Development, North America. In that position, he led market strategy, site selection, new site development, and preconstruction efforts.

Stoner brings more than 35 years of experience in data center development, real estate, and infrastructure projects. Before joining Vantage, he founded Lake Street Ventures and held leadership with general contractors overseeing retail, office, hospitality, and multifamily developments.

The appointment follows a series of executive moves at Vantage in 2026. The company named Scott Beasley global chief financial officer in March, and appointed Emma Jeffries as global chief people officer and Michael Fränkle as chief operating officer, EMEA, in April.
