Qualtrics Completes $6.75 Billion Press Ganey Forsta Acquisition

Qualtrics completed its $6.75 billion acquisition of Press Ganey Forsta, expanding its healthcare AI and experience management capabilities with one of the industry’s largest patient experience datasets.
Qualtrics completed its acquisition of Press Ganey Forsta for $6.75 billion on Monday, expanding its healthcare experience management and AI capabilities with what the company described as the world’s largest dataset for human experiential context.
The deal combines Qualtrics’ Experience Management (XM) platform with Press Ganey Forsta’s healthcare experience and benchmarking systems, which are used across more than 41,000 healthcare facilities, including most U.S. hospitals, according to the company’s announcement.
Qualtrics said the acquisition expands its AI and data platform with decades of healthcare-specific patient feedback, operational, and regulatory data. The company said the combined system will support predictive patient experience management, real-time insights, and AI-driven orchestration across healthcare operations.
“AI permanently changed what people expect from every experience in their lives,” Jason Maynard, CEO of Qualtrics, said in the announcement. “That’s why the future will be won in the Experience Gap.”
The company said patients increasingly compare healthcare experiences with digital consumer platforms and hospitality services instead of only other hospitals. It framed the acquisition as a response to rising patient expectations and healthcare providers’ push to modernize engagement systems using AI.
Healthcare organizations have been increasing investments in AI systems tied to patient access, workflow management, and operational efficiency. Recent deployments have included AI-powered patient assistants, automated hospital workflows, and clinical infrastructure systems built around large-scale healthcare datasets.
Healthcare AI companies are also expanding infrastructure and operational tooling tied to hospitals and care delivery systems. Earlier this year, healthcare AI company Aidoc raised $150 million to expand its clinical AI infrastructure platform for hospitals.
Healthcare AI Expands Beyond Clinical Systems
The acquisition reflects a broader shift in healthcare AI toward combining operational, patient experience, and workforce data into unified systems.
Press Ganey has historically focused on patient experience measurement, workforce engagement, and healthcare benchmarking tied to hospital quality and regulatory reporting programs. Qualtrics said combining that data with its XM platform would help healthcare organizations move from retrospective surveys to predictive AI-driven interventions.
“The opportunity ahead for healthcare is not simply more data or more AI, it is the ability to turn insight into timely, human-centered action,” David Entwistle, President and CEO of Stanford Health Care, said in the announcement.
The companies said the combined platform could support AI systems capable of predicting patient behaviors, simulating outcomes, and personalizing healthcare experiences at scale.
Healthcare providers have increasingly adopted AI-powered patient interaction tools as consumer expectations around digital healthcare services rise. Earlier this year, Quest Diagnostics launched a Google Gemini-powered AI companion designed to help patients understand lab results and healthcare information.
Industry analysts also tied the acquisition to growing demand for proprietary healthcare datasets used to train AI systems in regulated industries.
“Qualtrics' acquisition of Press Ganey Forsta reflects a broader industry shift toward unifying experience and operational data to power AI-driven decision-making,” Keith Kirkpatrick, VP and Research Director at The Futurum Group, said in the announcement.
The transaction marks another major ownership milestone for Qualtrics. SAP acquired the company for $8 billion in 2019 before Silver Lake and CPP Investments took it private in a $12.5 billion acquisition completed in 2023.
