Anthropic Launched Claude for Financial Advisors. Nine Platforms Already Connected.

"When Claude handles administrative tasks like meeting prep, follow-up drafts and pipeline review, advisers can spend more of their time serving clients."

Anthropic launched Claude for Financial Advisors on September 14, connecting Claude to nine named platforms across the financial adviser technology stack and building workflow skills designed to handle the administrative work that sits between client interactions.

The product connects to BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, and Zocks, covering the custodial, portfolio analytics, CRM, and planning layers that financial advisers use daily, according to the company.

The workflow skills built on top of those connections address three specific tasks: preparing for client meetings, analyzing portfolios, and running compliance checks on client-facing language before it goes out.

The compliance skill is the most commercially specific element of the product. It screens client-facing language for potential regulatory issues, helps firms document their AI review activities, and helps firms document their use of AI specifically under SEC rules, addressing the regulatory documentation requirement that has been one of the primary adoption barriers for AI tools in registered investment advisory practices.

"When Claude handles administrative tasks like meeting prep, follow-up drafts and pipeline review, advisers can spend more of their time serving clients," Anthropic said. "Practices can expand their customer base, and offer more of the services they need, like tax, estate, insurance and retirement planning."

The launch arrives four days after OpenAI announced ChatGPT for Financial Services on September 10, initially focused on investment banking and equity research rather than the registered investment adviser segment that Anthropic is targeting with Claude for Financial Advisors.

The two launches address adjacent but distinct parts of the financial services market, OpenAI targeting institutional investment banking workflows, Anthropic targeting the wealth management and adviser workflow layer, though both are competing for the same enterprise AI budget within financial services firms that operate across both segments.

The human-in-the-loop architecture is an explicit design feature rather than a disclaimer. Adviser review and approval are required on critical tasks, meaning Claude for Financial Advisors is positioned as an automation tool that surfaces work for adviser sign-off rather than an autonomous agent that completes and sends client-facing outputs independently, according to the company.

AI native startups Rogo and Hebbia operate in the same space, turning written instructions into financial models, memos, and pitch decks, and both run on Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google models. Anthropic's direct product launch into the adviser workflow layer places it in the same market as its own API customers.
