Radware announced AI Xploit Shield on June 16, 2026 to address a security problem that is a direct consequence of AI's own progress.

As frontier AI models accelerate the discovery of software vulnerabilities, the window between when a vulnerability is found and when it gets exploited is shrinking, and the traditional process of testing and deploying a patch was never built to move at that speed, according to the press release.

The press release named Anthropic's Mythos specifically as one of the frontier models accelerating vulnerability discovery, a direct acknowledgment that the same AI capability advancing cybersecurity research is simultaneously compressing the defensive timeline that security teams have historically relied on.

Why Patching Alone Is Not Enough

Patching remains the correct long-term fix for any discovered vulnerability. The problem Radware is targeting is what happens in the gap before that patch is deployed, according to the press release.

AI Xploit Shield closes that gap through virtual patching tailored automatically to each customer's specific applications, APIs, exposure, and environment.

Unlike generic virtual patching rules that apply broadly across customers, the AI-generated shields are customer-specific, built around the actual configuration and exposure profile of the organization being protected, and generated, tested, and deployed at a pace that matches how quickly new vulnerabilities are now surfacing.

That speed matters specifically because it gives security teams something they have historically not had during a vulnerability disclosure event: time. Rather than rushing an emergency production change to close a hole immediately, teams can deploy the AI-generated shield as an interim protection layer and validate the permanent patch properly before pushing it live.
