Knack RCM Appoints Muthu Kumar Raju as Chief AI Officer

Knack RCM has appointed Muthu Kumar Raju as Chief AI Officer, elevating an executive who has led the company's AI initiatives since 2024 as it continues to invest in artificial intelligence for healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM).

The company announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying Kumar Raju has played a central role in developing its Workmate workflow platform and advancing AI and automation across core revenue cycle processes. 

AI Leadership Expansion

According to Knack RCM, Kumar Raju has helped shape the company's AI strategy by leading the evolution of Workmate, a platform designed to support workflow automation across revenue cycle operations. The company said his experience spans engineering, product development, and business leadership, with previous roles at apiplatform.io, ExcelOn Academy, Bridgewater Associates, JKM Enterprises, and HP.

The appointment comes as healthcare technology companies continue adding executive leadership focused on artificial intelligence. Similar moves have emerged across the sector as vendors expand AI capabilities for clinical and administrative workflows, including healthcare software providers strengthening AI product leadership. 

Knack RCM describes itself as a provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management services for healthcare organizations. Its technology platform combines workflow management, automation, analytics, and AI to streamline billing and reimbursement processes. 

Healthcare RCM Firms Increase AI Investment

The appointment also follows broader strategic developments for the company. In May, investment firm Carlyle acquired Knack RCM and EqualizeRCM to create what it described as an AI-native global multi-specialty healthcare revenue cycle management platform. The combined organization operates across the United States, India, and the Philippines. 

Across the healthcare industry, revenue cycle management vendors have increasingly adopted AI to automate administrative functions such as claims management, coding, documentation, prior authorization, and reimbursement workflows. That trend has also driven acquisitions and product investments aimed at reducing manual work and improving operational efficiency. 

Recent healthcare AI deployments have increasingly centered on specialized operational systems rather than broad, general-purpose AI models. Companies are using AI to address targeted business processes where automation can improve productivity, reduce claim denials, and support financial performance. 

Knack RCM said Kumar Raju's appointment reinforces its focus on AI-driven innovation as the company continues expanding automation across its revenue cycle platform.
