Prezent Launches AI and Expert Hybrid Platform for Life Sciences Communications

Prezent launched Prezent Vivo on April 28, expanding its platform beyond presentations into full life sciences communications. The Palo Alto-based company said the product combines purpose-built artificial intelligence with domain experts to support scientific and commercial content across the product lifecycle.

The platform is designed for both biopharma companies and medical communications agencies. It covers use cases including congress posters, medical science liaison (MSL) decks, advisory board materials, and commercial content.

Prezent said its system integrates an AI agent, Astrid, with human specialists such as medical writers and communications engineers. The AI is trained on regulatory language, clinical data structures, and brand compliance requirements, allowing it to generate first drafts that meet industry standards.

“The future of life sciences communication is AI and experts, fused into one,” Rajat Mishra, CEO and Co-Founder of Prezent, said in the announcement.

The company positioned the product as a response to a long-standing tradeoff between speed and scientific accuracy. General-purpose AI tools can produce content quickly but lack domain depth, while traditional agencies provide scientific rigor but operate on slower, cost-intensive workflows.

Hybrid Model Targets Workflow Bottlenecks

Prezent Vivo introduces three delivery models: a self-serve AI platform, an overnight production service, and fixed-price expert-led projects. The company said this structure is intended to reduce reliance on billable-hour models common in medical communications.

The announcement stated that life sciences teams often rely on agencies for high-stakes materials due to compliance requirements, even as content demand increases across clinical and commercial functions. Prezent said its platform allows AI to handle production tasks such as drafting and formatting, while human experts focus on scientific validation and narrative development.

According to the company, senior experts in medical communications can spend up to 40% of their time on production work. Prezent Vivo is designed to shift that workload to AI systems, enabling higher output without increasing headcount.

The company also said clients have reported cost reductions ranging from 35% to 85% compared to traditional agency models, along with increased throughput per writer.

Expansion Signals Shift in Life Sciences AI Adoption

The launch reflects broader efforts to apply artificial intelligence in regulated industries where accuracy and compliance are critical. Life sciences organizations have adopted AI tools for drafting and data analysis, but scaling those tools into production workflows remains constrained by regulatory risk and the need for scientific precision.

Prezent said its approach embeds compliance and clinical context directly into the AI system, rather than applying AI as a separate layer on top of existing workflows. The company currently serves more than 150 life sciences organizations, including 45 of the top 50 biopharma companies.

The company also announced the appointment of Francine Carrick as President of Prezent Vivo. Carrick brings more than two decades of experience in medical communications and will lead go-to-market strategy and client partnerships.

“I joined Prezent Vivo because I wanted to see a system where experts can focus on higher-value work,” Carrick said in the announcement.

Prezent said the platform is built to support both enterprise teams and agencies, positioning it as an infrastructure layer rather than a replacement for existing service providers.
